As key actuating components for controlling fluids (oil, gas, water, etc.), automotive solenoid valve components need to adapt to harsh environments such as high temperature, vibration, corrosion, and high pressure in the engine compartment, chassis, gearbox, and other parts. Its adaptability is mainly achieved through material selection, structural design, sealing protection, performance enhancement, and other aspects, as follows:
1、 High and low temperature resistant design: resistant to extreme temperature fluctuations
1. High temperature resistance of core materials:
The electromagnetic coil adopts temperature resistant enameled wire (such as polyimide enameled wire, which can withstand temperatures up to 180-220 ℃) to avoid insulation layer aging at high temperatures; The skeleton is made of high-temperature resistant engineering plastics (such as PPS, PEEK) or ceramics to prevent deformation.
Metal components such as valve bodies and valve cores are made of heat-resistant alloys (such as stainless steel 316 and high-temperature steel) to resist long-term high temperatures of 120-150 ℃ (even short-term temperatures above 200 ℃) in the engine compartment, while avoiding embrittlement at low temperatures (below -40 ℃).
Temperature compensation structure: Some solenoid valves are equipped with components that match the thermal expansion coefficient (such as bimetallic plates), reducing the variation in component clearance caused by high and low temperature alternation and ensuring the accuracy of valve core movement.
2、 Resistance to vibration and impact: Dealing with mechanical stress
Balance between structural strengthening and lightweighting:
The valve body adopts integral forging or precision casting to reduce welding points and improve overall rigidity; Add reinforcing ribs to key connection parts (such as coil mounting brackets) to prevent vibration loosening.
The valve core and valve sleeve adopt a small clearance fit (micrometer level), and the surface smoothness is improved through honing technology to reduce friction, wear, and jamming caused by vibration.
Buffer and fixed design:
Install elastic buffer pads (such as silicone rubber) between the coil and the valve body to absorb high-frequency vibrations; Externally fixed with shock-absorbing brackets or bolts to reduce the risk of resonance.
3、 Corrosion prevention and sealing: isolating fluids and pollutants
Corrosion resistant materials and surface treatment:
Components that come into contact with fuel, coolant, and transmission oil are coated with corrosion-resistant materials (such as zinc nickel alloy, hard chromium coating) or non-metallic materials (such as PTFE coating) to resist chemical corrosion.
The exposed part of the valve body (such as the chassis solenoid valve) is treated with stainless steel or aluminum alloy anodizing to prevent corrosion from rainwater and salt spray (winter snow melting agent).
Multiple sealing design:
The dynamic seal (valve core and valve seat) adopts high-precision conical surface seal or elastic seal (such as fluororubber O-ring, oil and temperature resistant) to ensure zero leakage; Metal gaskets or anaerobic adhesives are used for static sealing (at component connections) to prevent fluid infiltration.
The coil cavity adopts a fully sealed structure (filled with epoxy resin) to isolate water vapor and dust, avoiding internal short circuits or oxidation.
4、 High pressure resistance and fatigue resistance: adapting to fluid pressure fluctuations
High voltage withstand structure:
The valve body design optimizes wall thickness through finite element analysis, thickens key parts (such as valve seats) or adopts hemispherical/conical structures to withstand fluid pressures up to 30-300 bar (such as fuel injection solenoid valves).
The valve core spring is made of high-strength alloy steel wire (such as piano steel wire), which has undergone fatigue testing to ensure that it does not fail under long-term high-frequency opening and closing (millions of times).
Pressure buffering device: Some solenoid valves have built-in throttling holes or damping structures to alleviate sudden fluid pressure increases (such as brake system solenoid valves) and reduce the impact of water hammer effects on components.
5、 Electromagnetic performance stability: resistance to interference and aging
Anti electromagnetic interference (EMC): The coil winding adopts a shielding layer (such as copper mesh) to reduce the interference of electromagnetic radiation on the vehicle electronic system; At the same time, circuit design (such as filtering capacitors) is used to resist interference from external electromagnetic waves (such as motors and radars).
Low temperature rise and heat dissipation: The coil design has a low resistance value to reduce heating when powered on; The contact area between the valve body and the metal shell increases, allowing for natural heat dissipation through the shell and avoiding magnetic weakening caused by high temperatures (demagnetization of permanent magnets).
6、 Redundancy Design and Reliability Verification
Failure safety mechanism: Some key solenoid valves (such as transmission shift solenoid valves) adopt a "power-off reset" design to ensure that they return to a safe state (such as neutral) in the event of a fault.
Rigorous testing verification: By simulating extreme environments such as high-temperature aging, low-temperature freezing, salt spray corrosion (500-1000 hours), vibration testing (10-2000Hz), impact testing (1000G acceleration), etc., the service life is ensured to reach over 100000 kilometers.
