What are the main uses of automotive components (VVT components)
VVT (Variable Valve Timing) is a crucial component in modern automotive engines, mainly used in the following scenarios:
1.Improve fuel economy
Optimizing the intake process: In the low to medium load conditions of daily car driving, such as constant speed commuting on urban roads, VVT components can delay the closing time of the intake valve. In this way, some fresh air will be pushed back into the intake manifold, creating an effect similar to exhaust gas recirculation, reducing the amount of intake air in the cylinder and reducing the amount of fuel injected, thereby reducing fuel consumption and improving the efficiency of each drop of fuel.
Matching working condition requirements: When the vehicle is stable at the economical cruising speed, the VVT system accurately regulates the timing of valve opening and closing to ensure that the engine's intake and exhaust processes are coordinated perfectly, allowing the mixture in the combustion chamber to form the optimal state and fuel to burn more fully. While maintaining the vehicle speed, it reduces the engine's workload and unnecessary fuel consumption.
2.Enhance power output
High performance working condition adaptation: In scenarios such as rapid acceleration and high-speed overtaking that require strong power, VVT components quickly adjust valve timing, open the intake valve in advance, and allow more fresh air to enter the cylinder in advance, preparing sufficient "raw materials" for combustion. Cooperate with the fuel injection system to increase the fuel injection amount, making the combustion more intense and releasing powerful explosive force in a short period of time, allowing the engine torque to quickly rise, meeting the driver's immediate demand for power response.
Full speed range optimization: Whether starting at low speeds or sprinting at high speeds, the VVT system continuously dynamically adjusts the valve action, allowing the engine to obtain suitable intake air in various speed ranges, making up for the weakness of traditional fixed valve timing engines in certain speed ranges, and achieving smooth and strong full speed power output.
3.Reduce emissions
Combustion process control: VVT technology optimizes the formation and combustion process of the mixture by precisely controlling the valve opening and closing, avoiding the mixture being too rich or too lean. The more thoroughly the mixture is burned, the less harmful pollutants are produced, such as carbon monoxide (CO), hydrocarbons (HC), and nitrogen oxides (NOx), which can be effectively controlled, helping cars meet increasingly stringent environmental emission standards.
Cold start emission reduction: During the cold start phase of an engine, there are usually more pollutants emitted. VVT components can adjust the valves appropriately during cold start, making the initial combustion state more stable, accelerating the speed at which the three-way catalytic converter reaches operating temperature, promoting early purification of exhaust gas, and reducing the pollution caused by a large amount of untreated exhaust gas discharged into the atmosphere during cold start.
4.Match different fuel types
Flexibility and adaptability: With the development of new energy vehicles, there are more and more hybrid models and vehicles that can flexibly use multiple fuels (such as gasoline, ethanol gasoline, natural gas). VVT components can quickly adjust valve timing based on the characteristics of different fuels, such as combustion speed, energy density, etc., to ensure that the engine can maintain stable and efficient operation when using various fuels.
